Abstract Submission Guidelines
- An abstract may have only one presenting author. There is no limit to the number of co-authors per abstract.
- A presenter may only present one poster.
• Prepare the following sections in plain English text for pasting into the appropriate text boxes during submission. Abstracts cannot be edited after submission. See an example abstract here.- Title (maximum 20 words)
- Authors and affiliations
- Structure the abstract body (maximum 300 words) with the following headings:
- Introduction
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusions
- (References optional)
Scientific posters may be submitted by a company through the regular on-line mechanism. However, if the poster is only reporting about the capabilities of a product (e.g., instrument, ancillary device, kit, reagent, software) and does not have a main scientific focus, it can only be considered in the Corporate Poster category, for which there is a fee and a designated presentation location in the poster hall.
- All authors of the abstract have reviewed the abstract and confirm that all information is correct. The authors accept that the content of this abstract cannot be modified or corrected after final submission, and they are aware that it will be published exactly as submitted.
- Submission of the abstract constitutes consent of all authors of the abstract to publication in relation to the meeting (e.g. conference website, programs, other promotions, etc.). All authors of the abstract warrant and represent that they either are the sole owners of, or have all necessary rights to sublicense, all the information and content in the abstract provided to HUPO and its conference organizers and that publication of the abstract does not infringe any rights, including, but not limited to, intellectual property rights, of any third parties.
- Contact author and is the person who will be notified about the status of the abstract by the meeting organizers. The presenter of the abstract is responsible for informing the other authors about the status of the abstract. If the abstract is accepted for publication at the Conference, the presenter, on behalf of all authors, agrees that it may be published on the Conference website or elsewhere, either prior to or contemporaneously with the Conference, as well as in an Abstract Book that may be distributed in print and or electronically.
- All authors of the abstract grant HUPO a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and nonexclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, translate, distribute, and display the abstract. All authors of the abstract grant permission to HUPO to record the audio and video portion, if any, of the abstract presentation at the conference and to collect and retain all revenues from all rebroadcasts (including web broadcasts), sales, and publications of such recordings.
- HUPO reserves the right to remove from any publication any abstract that does not comply with the above.
- The copyright of the abstract outside of HUPO’s usage remains with the authors of the abstract.

Travel Awards
HUPO 2022 is pleased to offer a number of education and travel awards to help researchers and scientists from around the world to attend the in-person HUPO 2022 Congress in Cancun, Mexico. These awards provide the opportunity for presenters in their early career or presenters from the Ukraine or a Low/Lower Middle Income Country (as defined by World Bank) to grow professionally by attending educational sessions, networking and developing professional relationships with colleagues from around the world. To apply for the travel awards, you will need to submit an abstract. You can submit your abstract and apply for the travel awards by clicking on the button “Submit Abstract and Apply for Travel Awards Here” above.
Step-by-Step Submission Guidelines
Step 1. Abstract Title
- Maximum 20 words.
- Abstracts can be submitted poster presentation only.
Step 2. Topic
- Please select one topic that best suits your abstract.
Step 3. Authors and Affiliations
- Designate the presenting author.
- There is no limit to the number of co-authors per abstract
Step 4. Abstract Text
- Abstract text cannot exceed 300 words and must be input with the following headings:
- Introduction
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusions

Corporate Poster
